Your teacher will use a number of recommended coursebooks and past exam papers to prepare you for the exam. You will get exam tips from your teacher and acquire useful exam techniques.

During the course you will take a full mock exam to give you an idea of what to expect during the exam.

Your teacher will give you lots of individual attention, feedback and advice on how to improve your English skills and get ready for your exam.

Your teacher will give you homework every day, and doing your homework regularly will help you identify the areas of English language you need to improve.

About the exam

Reading and Use of English

You need to show that you are able to deal confidently with different types of text such as fiction, newspapers and magazines. It tests your use of English with tasks that show how well you know your grammar and vocabulary.

You will need to be to be able to produce two different pieces of writing, including letters, reports, reviews and essays.


You will need to show that you able to follow and understand a range of spoken materials such as news programmes, presentations and everyday conversations.

You will take the Speaking test with one or two other candidates and you will be required to demonstrate different types of speaking in discussion with other candidates.
